Sarcasm Is Not An Expression Of Love

We become angry at someone we love and instead of finding a sensitive and constructive way of expressing our feelings, we resort to sarcasm.

We pretend the sarcastic statement we make is humorous when in fact it is anger intended to make the other person feel bad. And if they love us, they do feel bad for we have hurt them.

Then in emotion and not in reason, they strike back at us or withdraw from us.

Rather than going down this sarcastic path, stop yourself before it begins by allowing your emotions to cool. Then you can act with compassion as you address the issue that upset you.

It is through compassion that you will find the sensitive and constructive approach you need to help the one you love and in doing so, soothe your own feelings in the process.
