One of the great joys my wife Anne had was reading to our children when they were little. Now she does that with the same joy reading to our grandchildren.
On a foot stool in our living room is a "Dr. Seuss" book.
Reading to children, whether one's own or to others is a kind and loving act that entertains the child and opens his or her mind to the pleasure of reading, a pleasure that can last a lifetime.
And as for that "Dr. Seuss" book on our foot stool, the reader was our 6 year old granddaughter Carina.
