It is easy to be in love but love requires that you be there when your loved one needs you.
Is she depressed from sad events in her life? Be there, give her a hug and listen to her as she expresses her feelings.
Is he disappointed in his career, passed over yet again for a promotion? Be his sounding board and let him know you believe in him and support him.
Is she sick of the glass ceiling that holds women back and under pays them? Be sympathetic and if she wants to launch her own business be supportive.
Does your spouse fear growing old? Be there with words of reassurance and an abundance of hugs.
This is real life, not some fantasy, and it isn't easy. The best thing each of us has is our loved ones, for it is in love and support we find our strength and we find our joy.
It is all about being there.
