Being A Fool In Love

Love is the greatest of all emotions for it offers a joy and fulfillment unmatched by anything else in life. It is a feeling we all crave and we offer our hearts, sometimes blindly to receive it.

But sometimes in our blindness, we make some terrible choices. Yet the heart wants what it wants and we remain enraptured with that person even when it is destructive to us, and sometimes even when that love is not offered in return.

When that other person repeatedly takes actions or says things that are hurtful to us, even after we have had heart to heart talks and gotten promises that continue to be violated, as hard as it is to do, it is time to reevaluate the relationship with the intent of saying goodbye.

When love is real, it is mutual and it is kind and generous in spirit. Love is both parties caring for the best interest of the other and it is one of mutual respect. But instead, if one or both of the parties is used and abused, it is foolish to continue what has or will evolve into a destructive relationship.

As difficult as it is, it is far better to learn from one's experience and as amicably as possible part company and seek a new love, one that will be reciprocated and bring all the joy and fulfillment that love is meant to bring.
