Most of us understand what we want for the one we love, but we don't necessarily understand what they want for themselves. To understand requires us to lovingly listen to them and to be supportive of their feelings ahead of our own.
In doing this, we express our love in its most potent way, by helping to meet the needs of our lover. In their happiness we find joy and we revel in their fulfillment, knowing in our hearts, we contributed to that fulfillment and made life better for someone who is very special to us
