On Sunday night, Anne's and my 7 year old grandson Cameron asked me to attend a play his 1st grade class was putting on. He knew it was Tuesday at his school but had no idea what time [9:30 am]. When Anne and I arrived, we joined a crowd of over 100 family members that were there to see this play about saving a giant Kapok tree in a rain forest from a forester's axe.
The little children on stage were adorable, costumed as flowers, butterflies, bees and other of nature's menagerie, they sang and recited their lines. Cameron was among a four person team of rain. Anne and I watched this play with Cameron's 4 year old sister Carina, dressed in a red sun dress and pink shoes, sitting on Anne's lap, while their mother Maria filmed the play.
But what got my attention aside from the little children performing so beautifully was the oohing and aahing of the families, many of whom were filming the play. And at each interval, they clapped and cheered for the children. It was a love fest and everyone left feeling good, most notably the children and their teachers who had worked hard to put on this fun gala, and knew it was appreciated by all.
