The higher being that is the real you is not the body that houses you. Your love, compassion, creativity, courage, kindness, integrity, sensitivity, humor, work ethic and other attributes transcend your physical appearance and you will discover that others who love you, love you for who you are.
But television and other mass media celebrate a false Hollywood image of beauty, one no-one can ever live up to. If you define yourself not by your attributes but by this false image, you may find it difficult to love yourself, instead seeing yourself as a failure, and pursuing diet after diet, and reinforcing that sense of failure and inadequacy as you fail in those diets.
The next time you look in the mirror, make it a long look, as you see who you really are. And if you want to make improvements, work on the real you.
As for body image, it is meaningless, other than to tell you may have a potential health issue. If so, seek professional help so that you don't diet, but adjust your thinking and your eating habits in pursuit of a healthier body and a happier you.
