This morning as I awoke, the sun shined softly lighting the bedroom through a glass sliding door facing our backyard. To my right, Anne was nestled gently alongside me, her pretty face and beautiful blond hair resting on the pillow. Over her shoulder several feet beyond the door was a 10 foot tall tree covered in light green leaves and bright purple flowers, the flowers each about 2 inches across.
What a magnificent morning to behold. Instead of jumping out of bed and racing into the day, I laid still contemplating each of these wonders of life. A gorgeous wife, in a lovely home, in our yellow wallpaper flowered bedroom, lit up by the glow of the sun along with nature's majestic purple flowers to welcome the new day.
My mind and body were at piece. And not only was I thankful for these magnificent gifts so many others take for granted in the rush of their lives, but thankful as well for the eyes that beheld them, for sight is a splendorous gift to be treasured. As busy as you are, please don't miss these many pleasures for they help to bring to your life far greater joy and meaning, especially if you appreciate them and welcome them into your heart.
