The Heavenly Gift Of A Rose

"There was a rose, brilliant in color, intoxicating in scent.

"I knew it would touch my heart but I had no time to be with that rose. A glance was all I could spare.

"Someday I will truly witness that rose in all of its beauty, I promised myself, for beauty in life is heaven on earth. To miss beauty is to miss life.

"Finally that someday arrived but when I looked for that rose, it was gone, wilted and shriveled as happens when all living things pass.

"Then as I stared at the bush from which that rose came, I saw a rosebud and I promised myself someday I would truly witness that rosebud when it becomes a rose.

"But if not a glance will have to do."
