Happiness Is An Inside Job

Most of us are often unhappy with our lives.

But we would finally be happy if we got that special person to date us, or we got that promotion at work or we won the lottery. All of our problems would then be solved and we could be happy.

But here is a little surprise for you. Happiness is an inside job.

No matter what wonderful event happens for us, we soon revert to our long time mental process. The joy that event brought us soon slips away into our own fears and insecurities.

If we want to be happy we must work on ourselves, feeling a sense of gratitude for what we have and finding things in life to enjoy every day.

That enjoyment could in expressing our love for another person, playing with a puppy or a kitten, or by our appreciation for the scent of a rose, or a good laugh from a funny story or being whisked away by an enthralling movie or the golden tones of a beautiful song.

Life is a precious gift and if we celebrate it each day, we could break those old negative mental patterns and find the love and happiness that we have always longed for.
