Anne and I have been married for 49 years and one of the lessons I've learned is that marriage is not one continuous love affair.
We as people change as we go through various cycles throughout our lives. The person you or I were 10 years ago is not the person we are today. Neither are our spouses.
Therefore for a marriage to last, the couple must be aware of the changes in each other and love one another enough to adjust to those changes.
The best part of that adjustment is when you realize you are falling in love anew with the person you have long been with and he or she is falling in love anew with you.
