Women Have A Very Powerful Need To Express Their Feelings

Women are caregivers, taking care of everybody and everything, for most women sincerely care for the well-being of others, even before they care for the well-being of themselves. Given this devotion, and all that it requires of them, it is no surprise that most women have a very powerful need to express themselves and to discuss their feelings.

Their feelings cover many topics but first and foremost, women need to talk about their relationships, which include their husbands or boyfriends, their children and/or grandchildren and their parents and friends, neighbors and the people they work with. And women have a very strong need to talk about their problems.

When women speak, they readily express themselves with a full range of emotions, including with tears, something most men have trouble doing, for unlike women we frequently bottle up our emotions.

Many women gossip or complain about other men and women, from the famous to those they know and many women love to shop, especially for bargains to save money for their families. They also want to discuss their health, their homes, their recipes, their clothes and their social activities.

Politics and news events also capture their imaginations, particularly the news and politics that affect families and their well-being. And women want to talk about diets, weight loss and exercise, makeup and anything else that can help make them feel pretty or at least better about themselves.

Movies and television shows, sensitive to and respectful of relationships also get their attention, as do those that star attractive men. But often to a woman, an attractive man is not just good looking, but a man who is strong and sensitive and kind in his deeds and words. And where he is weak, they want to "fix" him, making him into a better man.

By comparison, most men are often superficial in their thinking. We discuss more ego driven matters such as: money, power and control, cars, sex, sports, action movies, and among younger men, video games.

And what do women ask of us? Many times it is only to be a good and sensitive listener, one who is sympathetic and supportive of their needs. Gentlemen, this is not a lot to ask of us, given all the love and devotion we receive from them.

If you want to have a long-term loving relationship with a woman who has captured your heart, be the good and sensitive listener she is asking you to be, and give her the undivided attention she deserves.
