In the jubilation of falling in love, it seems as if love will always be there no matter what happens. But time passes and real life intervenes. Money problems may arise, drug addiction may strike, a third party may impact the relationship or other serious problems may present themselves.
If the two people who originally fell in love can find that love again, it is because that love is what love must be: unconditional. One doesn't abandon one's child because that child has done something terrible. That is because the love between parent and child is unconditional.
And with unconditional love, one doesn't abandon one's partner either. Instead with a compassionate heart, one explores the underlying problems with the other with the sincere hope of finding solutions, instead of threatening to end the relationship as an act of revenge or punishment.
With forgiveness, modesty and respect, it is possible for the couple to reestablish their intimacy and to find the love and the joy that originally brought them together and even to strengthen those bonds.
For in our innate need for love, we all want someone who will love us unconditionally.
