One of the hardest things for many of us is to let go of relationships that have run their course. Even when the relationship no longer serves either party, we cling to it trying to make it work, while wrapping our emotions into a tight ball of stress.
But in life people come and go in our lives, and as long as the parting is amicable, there is no reason for regret. And the relationship is never really lost. It lives in our memories and if it is again meant to be, in whatever form, it will come back into being as a natural flow in our lives, not something we can force.
Instead, enjoy the relationships you have while you have them and look forward to the new relationships that regularly present themselves as interesting people come into your life.
