A common illusion is that we can vary our attitude from relationship to relationship, depending upon how we feel about each person involved.
But attitude is an inside job, reflective of how we feel about ourselves, and over time it remains consistent, unless we adjust our feelings about ourselves.
This is a major reason why some people have so many terminated relationships, yet consistently believe the next relationship will somehow be different. They just need to meet the "right" person.
Yet the "right" person is always us, for it is we who determine our attitude.
