When love burns hot it uplifts our hearts and blinds us to the shortcomings of the person who is the object of our affections. We don't see what we don't want to see. But when love cools, our eyes capture a more complete vision.
Sometimes we fall out of love, or sometimes the person who is the object of our affection falls out of love with us. If we are the ones no longer loved, our hearts ache for our lost love.
We hope this person will return to us. Sometimes that happens and we have the opportunity to build a love of real substance. But often it does not happen and we must go on without this person in our lives. Hopefully we have become wiser from this failed love affair.
If this is happening to you, take heart. You are not alone for it happens to most of us.
But the good news is there will be new opportunities to find someone who will love you for who you really are and the joy of building a long term meaningful relationship with this person who has captured your heart.
