"It's Not A Big Thing In Our Lives"

The next time your spouse does something that will cost the two of you money or it simply aggravates you, take several deep and calming breaths to yourself and then with a hug, tell your spouse, "Don't worry, it's not a big thing in our lives." For you know what? It isn't a big thing in your lives unless you make it so.

There is no benefit, no upside to berating your spouse about it. He or she feels bad enough already. You now have the opportunity of being bigger than the situation, as you wisely forgive and let it go. Even if you are strapped for cash, if money will fix it, you are a very lucky person.

Think of the many tragedies all the money in the world can't fix and the enormous pain and heartbreak people must then live with. Then look at the minor and inconsequential thing you were just presented and you will well understand the phrase, "It's not a big thing in our lives," and you will speak those words to your spouse in all sincerity.
